COSMECEUTIC AND THERAPEUTIC DIRECTIONS
There is some controversy over the precise mechanism by which striae occur. There seems to be damage at elastic fibers of the dermis, accompanied by inflammation which eventually results in scar-like changes. These changes appear to be induced by excessive physical stretching of the skin. There are a number of clinical situations which will predispose the skin to the formation of striae or strech mark.
This cutting edge biotech product acts as a booster for collagen and elastin regeneration, restores hydro-lypidic tissue thus the skin recovers its natural appearance and color.
This product efficiently combats extracellular matrix (ECM) degradation which plays a main role in the strech mark formation, also helps to reduce fibrils fragmentation and notably reconstruct dermic papillar fibrils.
Note: these are advisable therapeutic uses, but the ingredients of products may allow a physician to apply them under professional criteria, may find the product optimal to treat other aesthetic issues.CLINICAL DATA
Pharmacology
Pharmacology of the actives compounds in the formula which promotes Antistrechmarks effect:
Hyaluronic acid:
- Acts as a booster for collagen synthesis and helps to recover and restructure all the damaged bindings in the collagen structure.
Centella Asiatica:
- Centella asiatica known as Gotu Kola is a medicinal plant that has been used in folk medicine for hundreds of years as well as in scientifically oriented medicine. The active compounds include pentacyclic triterpenes, mainly asiaticoside, madecassoside, asiatic and madecassic acids. Centella asiatica is effective in improving treatment of small wounds, hypertrophic wounds as well as burns, psoriasis and scleroderma. The mechanism of action involves promoting fibroblast proliferation and increasing the synthesis of collagen and intracellular fibronectin content and also improvement of the tensile strength of newly formed skin as well as inhibiting the inflammatory phase of hypertrophic scars and keloids. Research results indicate that it can be used in the treatment of photoaging skin, cellulite and striae, strech marks.
- All the test provided proved significant protection for the women who had had strechmarks during puberty.
Methylsilanol Mannuronate:
Silicon is a constitutive element of the cutaneus connective tissue which takes part in the formation and organization of extracellular matrix (ECM). The natural concentration of Si decreases with aging and leads to tissue destructuration: age skin and wrinkles.
- Silanols are capable to substitute that loss of silicon an thus help in restructuring connective tissue thus helps to recover skin strechmark.
- The activity of silicon has been proven through the restructuration of connective tissue and the multiple effects: antiwrinkles, firming, striae, strechmarks…)
- Silanol activities on collagen production plays a main role at getting rid of striae which is a direct consequence of their cytostimulating effects demonstrates on fibroblasts cultures.
Rutin:
- The molecule is able to get better tissue oxygenation and access to nutrients by improving capillary blood circulation.
- On the other hand this substance enhances collagen synthesis and has antiradicals and antioxidant activity.
- At the same time rutin reduces histamine releasing and then the inflammatory process that comes up with treatment.
- Relistase’s amino acids helps to restore skin’s natural elasticity, which causes skin to look firmer, tighter, and less wrinkled by protecting elastin in the cells, allowing them to rebuild and stay stretchy and resilient. It can even help protect connective tissue under the skin, which is capital for strechmaks prevention.
- Another of Relistase’s benefits is its ability to encourage collagen production.
- The main function of Relistase is to tighten the look skin which also contributes to the appearance of the strechmark and thus the skin.
- It consists of a short chain of three amino acids ( glycine-histidine-lysine) connected to palmitic acid.. The peptide GHK is a fragment of type I collagen molecule and is believed to serve as a biological increase degradation signal of the skin matrix. Indeed, when collagen is degraded, more of its small fragments get created in the body, including GHK fragment. When the key skin matrix-producing cells (fibroblasts) detect increased levels of GHK, they “assume” that the skin matrix is being lost at a higher rate and begin synthesizing it more vigorously. Thus, Pal-GHK is intended to stimulate skin matrix, leading to wrinkle reduction, skin firming and other aesthetic benefits.
- Another interesting point about the GHK fragment, is that it is a part of another well known skin care ingredient, the copper peptide Cu-GHK. Copper peptides are known to improve wound healing, activate skin remodeling, improve the structure of skin matrix, reduce scarring and exert other beneficial effects on the skin
- This peptide consists of a short chain of four amino acids (a.k.a. GQPR peptide or glycine-glutamine-proline-arginine) connected to palmitic acid.
- Is believed to work by reducing the production of interleukin-6 (IL-6) by the the key skin cells, keratinocytes and fibroblasts. IL-6 is a molecule that promotes inflammation, which, in turn, leads to faster degradation of the skin matrix and thus contributes to the development of wrinkles and loss of skin firmness and elasticity. By reducing the levels of IL-6 and possibly other inflammation mediators, this peptide is thought to slow down the degradation of the skin matrix and may also stimulate its replenishment.
- Reduces and prevents strechmarks by actively generating new skin cells.
- Involves in normal skin growth, healing and wound repair.
- Strengthens skin elasticity by inducing the synthesis of collagen and elastin.
- More stable and prolong action than native proteins.
- It has showed positive regulation of collagen expression.
- This oligopeptide increases fibroblast cell and keratinocyte cell proliferation in dose-dependent manner.
- Reduces and prevents lines and strechmarks by actively generating new skin cells.
- Enhances skin tone that brimming with vitality and energy.
- Minimize scars on skin by forming new skin cell.
- Up-regulation of cell growth and migration, cell survival, extracellular matrix expression.
- Cell Proliferation with Keratinocyte and Fibroblast Cells
- Increases fibroblasts and keratinocytes proliferation in dose-dependent manner.
- It has showed positive regulation of Hyaluronic acid and Fibronectin expression. Increased expression of hyaluronic acid (3 folds) and Elastin (1.3 fold) was observed in fibroblast cells.
- This molecule increases cell survival of keratinocytes cell line by its anti apoptosis attribute, also enhances the attachment of cell by means of EGF growing epidermic factor regulation.
- Effectively inhibits degradation of the Extra Celullar Matrix (ECM), reduces tension at dermis level and furthermore due to its healing properties enhance the regeneration of dermal constituents getting elasticity and integrity for the skin to recover the natural appearance and also recover its normal behavior. It plays a main role at strechmarks preventing and recovering.
